First reported by Kian Duffy at HaikuNews, a BeOS GUI is for the Transmission BitTorrent client is in being worked on by Bryan Varner. In recent posts on his blog, he showed off a screenshot and detailed some of his adventures in caffeine withdrawal. While there is the BeThon-based BitTorrent for BeOS client, it is increasingly-incompatible with newer torrent files – a GUI client based on Transmission could potentially give us BitTorrent support on par with the mainstream OSes.
Update: For those who are curious about what became of Bryan’s previous in-developmebt BT client (Tidalwave), a comment on his blog mentions that the code was lost in a harddrive failure.
